Company Signals Update — 6 November 2026

·

This update covers three primary-source items from 4–5 November 2026: 3D Systems’ third-quarter results, Norsk Titanium’s Q3 operational update, and Nikon’s first-half Digital Manufacturing segment figures. All three are tracked in the Addithive Company Database.

Demand, capacity and qualification

3D Systems: Q3 revenue $99.3 million, up 9%; Adjusted EBITDA turns positive at $3.1 million

3D Systems reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of $99.3 million, up 8.8% year over year and up 10.9% excluding 2025 software divestitures. Healthcare Solutions rose 14.4% to $49.0 million on dental materials and parts manufacturing; Industrial Solutions rose 3.9% to $50.3 million (7.7% excluding software divestitures), with Aerospace & Defense growing more than 50%. Gross margin was 35.0% (non-GAAP 35.5%). Net loss attributable to the company was $33.5 million, while Adjusted EBITDA improved to $3.1 million from a $10.0 million loss a year earlier. Cash and investments were $120.5 million at 30 September. For Q4 it guided to revenue of $100–103 million and Adjusted EBITDA of −$2 million to break-even.

Why it matters: for a pure-play systems and materials vendor, the constraint is qualified production demand in a few strategic markets, not broad installed-base refresh. Q3 showed growth concentrated in Med Tech, Dental, Aerospace & Defense and Data Center Infrastructure, with operating leverage after prior cost cuts. The release does not break out metal versus polymer printer mix. See our 3D Systems profile.

Norsk Titanium: Q3 revenue and other income $2.1 million; first RPD machine installed at Airbus Varel; Rolls-Royce development PO

Norsk Titanium’s 5 November operational update put third-quarter revenue and other income at $2.1 million (from $0.7 million a year earlier), with nine-month total $5.0 million (from $2.8 million). Serial production was $0.6 million and development/services $1.2 million. Average monthly cash burn was $2.2 million; cash was $27.2 million at 30 September. The company installed its first Merke IV RPD machine at Airbus in Varel, Germany, under the Cooperation and Research Agreement; received a Rolls-Royce purchase order for a titanium development component aimed at civil engine programmes; and started work under the previously announced $4.2 million DIB-EDGE submarine development contract. It said a U.S. defense-prime qualification order for a high-rate missile-defense programme is being finalized. Full-year revenue and other income is guided to about $8 million.

Why it matters: for structural titanium RPD, the constraint is OEM process qualification and serial conversion, not nameplate capacity. The Airbus machine placement and Rolls-Royce engine development order are steps on that path; revenue remains small versus the installed 700 MT capacity claim. See our earlier note on Norsk Titanium qualification.

Nikon: H1 Digital Manufacturing revenue ¥17.4 billion, up 77%; SLM large-format metal printers lead

Nikon’s results for the six months ended 30 September 2026 (H1 FY3/27) show Digital Manufacturing revenue of ¥17.4 billion, up 77.2% from ¥9.8 billion a year earlier, against an August forecast of ¥17.0 billion. Segment operating loss narrowed to ¥2.2 billion from ¥8.9 billion. Management attributed growth to Nikon SLM Solutions’ large-format metal 3D printers, especially in defense and space, and said Q2 (Jul–Sep) large-format metal printer orders hit a quarterly record. Full-year Digital Manufacturing revenue guidance is unchanged at ¥34.0 billion; Nikon says SLM Solutions is expected to turn profitable in FY2027/3 and the segment thereafter.

Why it matters: inside a diversified optics group, Digital Manufacturing is the additive bottleneck read. H1 confirms large-format metal printer demand is carrying the segment, with profitability still ahead. Group results are not an AM proxy. See our Nikon profile.
