Proto Labs (NYSE: PRLB) reported record third-quarter 2026 revenue of $154.3 million on 29 October 2026, up 14.0% year over year (Form 8-K Ex. 99.1).
3D printing revenue was $22.4 million, up 11.4% from $20.1 million. That is 14.5% of total revenue. Nine-month 3D printing revenue was $63.5 million, up 3.3% from $61.5 million, so the first half was roughly flat and the growth came in Q3.
CNC machining still sets the pace. It grew 16.4% to $73.4 million. Injection molding grew 12.5% to $53.7 million.
GAAP operating margin rose to 9.4% from 6.5%. GAAP net income was $11.8 million, or $0.48 per diluted share, against $0.30 a year earlier. Adjusted EBITDA was $26.2 million, 17.0% of revenue. Cash and investments were $175.0 million at 30 September.
Protolabs raised full-year 2026 revenue growth guidance to 10–11% from 8–10%. It guided Q4 revenue to $143.0–151.0 million (Business Wire release).
Why it matters: the release does not split 3D printing by process or end market. One quarter of double-digit growth after a flat first half is a turn to watch, not yet a trend. For the service-bureau model, see Materialise vs Protolabs.
